Under the Hilton Group, Conrad Centennial Singapore is a
highly sought after property by many. The hotel is located at the prime area and beside Millenia Walk. Plus, it is just an 11-minute walk to iconic Marina Bay and many other attractions. One can
even do a self-walking tour around the Singapore Iconic attractions. How convenient can that be?

Checking in was fuss-free but unfortunately, we were a
little too early and the room was not ready. We were invited to the lounge at level
31 to wait while they get our rooms ready. Instead of going over to the lounge,
we decide to visit Golden Peony for Cantonese Dim sum with the S$70 credit that
came along with the package we purchased.
Hilton Honor Member
Despite being a HH gold member, there is no upgrade given because as per the staff. We have booked the Executive King Room and thus there is no upgrade further. We also read that the
hotel is constantly in demand and chances of you getting upgraded is extremely low.
The Room – Executive King Room
Conrad Centennial Singapore has undergone a refurbishment
project in 2017 and was completed in 2018. To be honest, after visiting MarriotTangs Refurbished Rooms in April 2019, I was expecting the room to feel dated.
Thankfully, the refurbishment project went well and the room is new and clean.
H didn’t feel irritated by the carpet or the room itself.
The King Executive room is 40 sqm big and we were given the Bayview.
Our room is located on level 28 and the view from the top is amazing! It’s a
pity that part of the view is blocked by Marina Mandarin. Personally, I love
the interior design of the hotel which offers a long sofa along with the window. It
not only make use of the space, but it also allows us to rest and enjoy the view.
The King bed came with a firm mattress and we had a good sleep. On top of that, they
have 15 types of pillow from their pillow menu. I didn’t try to order a pillow
from the menu because the one on the bed is good enough.
The marble designed bathroom is spacious and clean. Shanghai
Tang toiletries were used by the hotel and Temple Spa toiletries are available
upon request. On top of that, it comes with a double sink which meant that we
can use the toilet concurrently and save time. Unfortunately, the bathtub is pretty
small in size.
Other room features include a built-in universal power socket
as well as a USB port and intelligent lighting system. We tried the USB port and
it fails on us terribly. H charged his phone overnight with a lightning cable
and only found his phone 20% charged. In the end, we had to switch it to the
traditional option. Nespresso Coffee Machine and a well-stocked minibar
(chargeable) is available for guest to use.
Conrad Centennial Singapore Lounge
Due to overwhelming demand, Conrad Centennial Singapore has
2 in-house lounge at level 4 and level 31 catered to their guests. Breakfast, High
Tea and Canapes are available at both lounge during the day. The lounge is opened from 06:30 - 23:00 daily
Level 4 Lounge by the Pool
Guest who are staying in the executive room or with HH
Gold/Diamond members who booked premium room are entitled to level 4 lounge
access. The level 4 lounge is more children friendly and they have more snack
options for the kids.
Level 31 The Executive Lounge
A more exclusive lounge for guest staying in the suite rooms
or with Hilton Gold/Diamond members who booked at least an executive room. The lounge offers an amazing view of Singapore Skyscrapper. Do
note that kids under 12 years old are not allowed to enter.
We visited both lounges during our stay and find that they
are pretty much the same. During tea time on a weekday, the lounge at level 31
was more crowded than the level 4 lounge. The lounge was under-staff and
struggling to meet every guest’s request. The view at level 31 is definitely
better. If you are lucky, you may even catch fireworks like we did!
Afternoon High-Tea
Got to love the scones offered at the lounge! Items served
at both lounge is similar but the ones at level 4 had more snacks. Although the
spread is minimal, you get free-flow of champagne during tea time from 2:30pm –
4:30pm. Considering that the canape starts one hour later 5:30pm – 8pm, I think
guest do not have to worry about getting hungry or thirsty.
Evening Canapé
In the evening between 5:30pm – 8pm, the lounge serves a selection
of drinks and hor's d’ oeuvres. The selection is limited but it’s a great option
for those who want to have something light before your dinner. Cocktail
available for guest to order. Do note that any alcoholic drinks place after 8pm
is chargeable
Breakfast at Conrad Lounge
We have the option to have our breakfast at the Lounge or at the Oscar Lounge. We went for the lateral option but to find that it is over-crowded. Thus, we head back to the lounge at level 31. The food variety is a lot lesser in the lounge compared to
Oscar. However, guest can expect a quiet
ambience and top-notched service from the staff in the lounge. Breakfast time from 6:30am - 10:30am
Breakfast at Oscar Restaurant
Breakfast crowd is crazy at Oscar. They even had to open the space at the lobby lounge to cater to the crowd. Initially, we wanted to have
our breakfast at Oscar because there’s a wider range of food to choose from. Plus,
they have ice cream which both lounges does not have. In the end, we have breakfast at level 31 and back to Oscar for ice
cream. Breakfast time from 6:30am - 10:30am
Facilities
As mentioned earlier, the building is old and so is the
pool. The pool is small and very crowded. It’s probably one of the smallest 5
star hotel pool in Singapore. Nonetheless, it seems like a great place to dip due
to the hot weather. If you are looking for a hotel with great views then you
might want to consider Marina Bay Sands Hotel. On the other hand, the gym is
well equipped and perfect for someone who wants to work out! Plus, there were
not many people seen when we visited in the morning.
The Service
We have stayed at multiple 5-star city hotel and to be
honest none of the service can be compared to the ones we received at Conrad
Hotel. Despite the crowd, the lobby staff personally showed us the way and
shortcut to Marina Square. A small gesture like this really makes a difference. Thank
you Conrad Centennial Singapore, you made our stay amazing.
In Conclusion, We feel that Conrad Centennial Singapore is a great option
for guest visiting Singapore as well as locals looking for staycation options. There
are many dining options and attractions available for guest. Plus, it’s a great
deal when Hilton has a promotion.
