Singapore’s first Mondrian Hotel opens in the trendy neighbourhood of Singapore - Duxton Hill where heritage shophouses blend seamlessly with modern amenities. Together with Duxton’s heritage, the hotel design was inspired by the traditional architecture of the neighbourhood
Nestled in a prime location, this prestigious hotel offers a lavish experience that captivates the senses. One can walk to Duxton road where there are ample of restaurants and bars or Chinatown where you can find lots of heritage site.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed with warm hospitality from the staff and was brought to the lobby located at level 3 for check-in. One can opt to for in-room check-in where the staff will bring you to the room and process the registration.
Duxton Room King
With 302 guestroom, this boutique hotel has a unique contemporary design elements with a touch of timeless elegance. Each guest room features bespoke furnishings, luxurious amenities, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a haven of comfort and style.
We booked the basic room - Duxton Room King (Without View), a 237 sqft/ 22 sqm room. Tastefully designed with modern aesthetic and use of mirror, the room feels bigger when we entered. The room is thoughtfully design to fit a king size bed, bath with rain shower, lounge area with adequate space in between. The king size bed was big and comfortable but a little too soft for me. Power point and USB point are available on both side of bed available for guest to use.
The room features a well-appointed en-suite bathroom fittings from Grohe and bottle luxurious MALIN+GOETZ Bath Amenities. Lots of mirror is used in the bath room to create a space which I find it very smart. However, I find the bathroom counter top a little small for me to use as a vanity area or even to place my toiletries.
Unlike business hotel, the room come with a bigger lounge area instead of a desk area which allow both H & I sit together. The room comes with a Lavazza Coffee Machine and Monogram Tea for guest to relax and chill in the room. A full mini-bar is available for guest to use. Sadly, we couldn’t find the price list to refer.
In addition, the room boasts modern technology, including a large flat-screen Samsung TV and high-speed Wi-Fi, ensuring you stay connected in style. Unfortunately, the local network was bad and we could not receive any sms/call from the room.
Breakfast
Our room comes with complimentary breakfast at their main restaurant - Bottega di Carna located at level 3 of the hotel. One can choose one item from the menu and from the breakfast spread. Personally, I find the food being offer to be limited and if your room does not come with complimentary breakfast, there are ample of breakfast options in just streets away from the hotel.
Amenities
Roof top Pool & Bar
The hotel boasts a captivating rooftop pool with panoramic views of the city skyline. Guest can book pool side cabanas before arriving at the hotel to avoid disappointment. The view at night is equally beautiful! One can also order drinks from the bar and chill at the cabana next to the pool.
Gym
The well equipped fitness center, designed in collaboration with GQ Active, are available for wellness enthusiasts seeking top-notch facilities.
Restaurants & Bars
There are a couple of in-house dining option available for guest to choose from. On the ground level, Christina’s is a great place for brunch or even to catch up on work. At the main hotel level, Bottega di Carna offers modern Italian cuisine. Jungle Bar as well as Roof top bar are available for one to chill and unwind.
Conclusion
Overall, we find that the stay in Mondrian Hotel is very inviting. With its prime location in the vibrant Duxton Hill district and impeccable service, one can enjoy the stay and explore different parts of Singapore. There are lots of dining options available for one to choose from! The fancy design and top notch service is one that make the hotel unique. Although Mondrian Hotel Singapore is not located next to an MRT station like Sofitel Singapore City, it is a fantastic choice for those seeking to stay in a masterpiece of its own.
