The newly renovated Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore welcomes guests with a fresh perspective. Designed by the esteemed architecture firm WOHA, this hotel boasts a unique four-stack structure – Forest, Beach, Garden, and Cloud. Despite its quiet location in Orchard, it stands out for its distinctive design.
Nestled along Scotts Road behind the Thai Embassy, the property is a 10-15 minute walk from Orchard MRT. However, it's important to note that the path is unsheltered.
Arrival and Check-In:
Upon arrival, the hotel's lush tropical design instantly transports you to an oasis in the heart of bustling Orchard Road. Unlike traditional air-conditioned lobbies, Pan Pacific Orchard offers a resort-style lobby, radiating warmth.
We arrived on a weekday afternoon and experienced a swift check-in process. However, the staff, though professionally dressed, seemed disengaged. Surprisingly, this 5-star hotel provided no introductory welcome, even during off-peak hours when no other guests were waiting.
The Room:
Our Deluxe with Balcony room unveiled a pleasant surprise – a pool view! This spacious 30 sqm room with a private balcony exuded modern sophistication. It featured thoughtful amenities such as a Swisspro filtered tap, Nespresso machine, and TWG tea bags. A comfortable sitting area with a couch, lounge chair, and coffee table provided an ideal setting for relaxation or work.
The balcony, equipped with Ziptrack, offered a unique design from other hotel. Although it's important to note that it's not childproof, necessitating caution when traveling with kids.
The bathroom boasted an open-concept washbasin, with the option to enclose it for privacy. The inclusion of Diptyque bath amenities added a delightful touch.
Facilities:
The hotel exudes a relaxed beach club vibe, and the pool area is perfect for unwinding. Unfortunately, we didn't have our swimsuits, but it's a great spot for future visits. The well equipped gym has a really nice view that faces the Pool. Perfect for gym enthusiast
Conclusion:
Pan Pacific Orchard offers a beautifully designed urban escape within Orchard Road. While its aesthetics are captivating, there's room for improvement in providing a more personalized guest experience, especially for a 5-star hotel. The location, while tranquil, may present challenges for those reliant on public transportation. Nonetheless, it's an excellent choice for those in search of an urban garden retreat.
