We spent 3 days and 2 nights at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali and were pleasantly surprised by how exceptionally child-friendly the resort is. Perfectly positioned just a short stroll from Bali’s famous Jimbaran Beach, Mövenpick blends family-focused luxury, warm island vibes, and world-renowned Swiss hospitality. It’s a tropical retreat designed for both relaxation and play, with something special for every type of traveler.

Getting to Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali

Just a 30-minute drive from Bali Airport, the resort makes it ideal for both short getaways and longer vacations. It’s particularly great for families who don’t want to spend hours getting stuck in Bali traffic. Private airport transfers to the resort can also be easily arranged for added convenience.

First Impressions

Upon arrival, we were welcomed into a beautiful lobby showcasing a fusion of modern elegance and grand Balinese style. With airy spaces and natural wood accents, the resort immediately set a relaxed yet polished tone for our stay.

Unfortunately, our check-in process took longer than expected — our rooms were not ready even though it was already 3 PM. To make up for the wait, the staff thoughtfully invited us for a complimentary high tea. While the food was average, the gesture definitely helped ease our anxiety, especially with a toddler in tow.

The Room

Our Deluxe Room was spacious, bright, and featured a private balcony overlooking the pool. The modern Balinese decor, plush king-sized bed, and marble bathroom added a touch of understated luxury. Although there were some signs of aging in the room, they did not impact our comfort or overall experience.

The Experience

Mövenpick Jimbaran is designed for both relaxation and recreation. The centerpiece of the resort, Mövenpick’s expansive lagoon pool feels like a tropical paradise all on its own. Winding through the lush gardens, the pool features a sandy beach area perfect for kids, shaded cabanas for lounging, and even a swim-up bar for adults to sip cocktails under the sun.

One of the highlights was the daily Chocolate Hour from 4–5 PM — a sweet Mövenpick tradition enjoyed by guests of all ages.

The resort also offers a shuttle service to popular spots along Jimbaran Beach, but we found it just as easy to walk. They thoughtfully provide beach amenities, making it effortless to enjoy a relaxing day by the sea. For the adventurous, excursions to nearby temples, surf spots, and cultural highlights are easily arranged through the concierge.

The Kids Club

The Meera Kids Club is every parent's dream. Bright, colorful, and packed with activities, it caters to children from toddlers to tweens. From yoga classes and arts and crafts to a mini cinema and splash zone, young guests are well-entertained while parents get some well-deserved downtime.

We loved spending the hottest parts of the afternoon at the Kids Club. Each room is entitled to a maximum of 4 hours' usage daily. In the evenings, they even offer a bunny feeding session — a big hit with the little ones!

The Gym 

The gym at Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali is well-equipped for a vacation workout, featuring a range of modern cardio machines, free weights, and strength-training equipment. Though not overly large, the space is bright, clean, and overlooks the resort’s lush gardens, making workouts feel a little less like a chore. Towels and water are readily available, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to squeeze in a quick session between beach outings and poolside lounging.

Dining

The resort offers a diverse range of dining options, from hearty international buffets at Anarasa to authentic Balinese flavors and casual poolside snacks. However, we opted to explore the nearby Samasta Lifestyle Village for most of our dinners.

Samasta Lifestyle Village

Conveniently located right next to the resort, Samasta Lifestyle Village offers a variety of affordable restaurants and souvenir shops. Hotel guests enjoy discounts at many of the restaurants. There's even a mini outdoor playground and nightly performances at 7 PM, making it a lively yet stress-free dining option for families.

Although the food offerings aren’t as unique as Bali’s famous cafes or Jimbaran's seafood restaurants, the sheer convenience — especially with a young child — made it our go-to for two nights.

Final Thoughts

Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali is a fantastic choice for families with kids. It offers polished service, thoughtful family-friendly amenities, and a relaxed, beachside vibe — all delivered with Mövenpick’s signature charm. While some facilities could benefit from refurbishment and dining could be more consistent, the overall experience was memorable and enjoyable.

For families, it’s a perfect, effortless retreat. For couples seeking a more romantic, boutique atmosphere, other options might be more suitable. Whether you come for the chocolate, the sunsets, or the slow days by the pool, you’ll leave with your heart (and your camera roll) full.
